For Parents
Welcome! Worries about a child that is of great importance to you might have brought you to this place. You might be at a loss about your child's behavior and unsure about how to respond to it. Well intentioned efforts to fix things might not have had the hoped for effect. You might even feel that the relationship with your child is deteriorating and that you are losing the connection. Or maybe you feel your child is not doing well, seems unhappy, seems bothered by something you can't put your finger on and you would like to get him or her some help.
Parents can feel reluctant to ask for help for their child as they feel they should be able to help their child on their own. However, most are relieved once they reach out. It will start a collaborative process where we can work together to help your child move forwards. As a psychoanalytic therapist I am trained to listen to you and your child in a different and new way, opening a perspective that will allow you and your child to move forwards by finding new, creative ways to go about things. Ways that involve less pain and suffering.
Do you want your child to overcome his or her current emotional or behavioral hurdles? Do you want family life to be a little bit easier? Do give me a call at (530) 321-2970. I am ready to listen and help.
